Spike
Spike lives in England.
He was born 1st August 2006
We previously had a rescue Bully (5 years when we got him) who sadly died in mid August this year.
We have been very lucky acquiring our latest little chap. Brought him home at 7 and half weeks. For the first few days he was perfect - THEN came the snapping, nipping, tenacious behaviour that this wonderful breed is famous for.
Our house and world has been turned upside down, but we love him dearly even though everything to him is a challenge and when challenged his character begins to show. I have been at my wits end to know how to stop the constant hanging onto clothes and arms and anything else that moves. He growls, and almost charges you (he is now 9 and a half weeks). He is gradually learning his place in the pack, but I am finding you have to be just a tenacious as him. He does understand the word "no" but nearly always choses to ignore it.
He follows for treats, walking by my side and sits when commanded. He sits for his dinner (does not wait yet of course as he is always starving come meal times). But can he eat!!! He seems to have got so big, so quickly when I look at former photos of him. It is incredible.
He has developed good eating habits, is becoming house trained (we can't let him out till he has passed two weeks after his next injection) By this time he will be 13 weeks old and would have spent nearly 6 weeks confined to our home. No wonder he is fed up. All in all he is a dear little soul, but every so often the devil appears......I go to bed at night with the archangel Gabriel and wake up with Lucifer (not always) sometimes its the other way round ........ Hope you enjoy
